Trust starts with where data lives

Your subscribers' data stays where it belongs. With you.

Senderkit is built so you can bring your own database. That means your customer list isn't locked inside our servers — it lives in your infrastructure, under your name, under your rules. GDPR compliance stops being a paperwork nightmare and starts being a checkbox.

Why it matters

The data your customers give you is sacred.

When a customer hands you their email address, they're trusting you. Not your email platform, not a third-party processor, not some US cloud provider. You.

Most email tools quietly make you the middleman. Your customer data ends up on their servers, under their privacy policy, subject to their subpoenas. If that platform gets hacked, it's your customers in the breach notification.

Senderkit takes the opposite approach. With Bring Your Own Database, the only thing that moves through our servers is the act of sending. The contacts, the segments, the send history — they live in your database, in your cloud account, under your control.

How it works

You point Senderkit at your own database.

We support free Neon Postgres (takes 2 minutes to create) and Cloudflare R2 for asset storage. If you already use them, you just paste a connection string. If you don't, we walk you through it.

Create a free Neon database

Neon is a serverless Postgres host. Free tier is plenty for small businesses. Takes 2 minutes.

Paste the connection string into Senderkit

We run the setup, create the tables, and verify the connection. We never keep a copy of the data.

Send emails as normal

Your subscribers, campaigns and logs now live in your Neon. Senderkit reads them only at the moment of send.

GDPR, explained like you're running a shop

The three words every small business dreads.

GDPR is European law. In short, it says: when someone gives you personal data, you're responsible for it. You have to know where it is, protect it, tell people what you do with it, and delete it when they ask.

Most email platforms make this hard because your data is scattered across their cloud, their subprocessors, and their marketing partners. If a customer asks “delete everything you have on me”, you have to trust that chain.

With BYOD, the chain is short. Data lives in your database. You can answer “where is my data?” with one sentence. You can delete it with one query (or one click in our dashboard).

Right to access

Customer asks what you have on them? Run a report from your own DB. Easy.

Right to erasure

Customer asks to be forgotten? One delete. Gone from the only place it was.

Data portability

Customer wants to take their data? Export from your DB in any format you want.

Breach notifications

If a breach ever happened, the blast radius is one database — yours — not a shared platform serving thousands of businesses.

Who this matters for

BYOD isn't just for developers. It's for anyone who takes trust seriously.

EU businesses post-Schrems II

If you're worried about US cloud providers and transatlantic data transfer, BYOD on an EU-hosted Neon region settles the question.

Healthcare, legal, finance

Industries where data sovereignty isn't optional. BYOD lets you pick a region, an encryption setup and a compliance posture that matches your sector.

Agencies managing client lists

Each client's data can live in a separate Neon workspace. No cross-tenant risk, clean handover when a client takes their ops back in-house.

Anyone who wants to sleep at night

If “where is my subscriber data right now?” isn't a question you can answer out loud, BYOD fixes that today.

Availability

BYOD is required on every plan.

Connect your Neon Postgres during onboarding — free Neon tier works. Subscribers, campaigns, and send history live in your database from day one. That's intentional: you own the data, and switching ESPs later means keeping your database, not exporting from ours.
